Membership

Eligibility. There shall be three types of membership:

  • Active Membership is open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of this Club. Active Members are entitled to vote in meetings, vote for Officers and Board members, hold office, and otherwise conduct the business of the Club. Active membership is intended for those individuals who intend to attend Club meetings on a regular basis.

 

  • Associate Membership is open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of this Club. Associate Members are not entitled to vote in meetings, vote for Officers and Board members, or hold office. Associate Members may otherwise participate in meetings and other Club activities unless such activities are specifically restricted to Active Members as determined by the Board of Directors. An individual may become an Associate Member by being elected to membership according to Article II, Section 3 and payment of dues as an Associate Member. An Active Member in good standing may become an Associate Member by notifying the Board of directors of such intent and payment of dues as an Associate Member.

 

  • Junior Membership is open to all persons between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age. Junior Members are entitled to all benefits and limitations of Associate Members. Upon attaining 18 years of years of age, a Junior Member will automatically graduate to Active membership or Associate membership upon payment of the appropriate dues.

Dues

Active Membership dues shall not exceed $25 per year, payable on or before the 1st day of March of each year. No member may vote whose dues are not paid for the current year. Associate and Junior Membership dues shall not exceed $15 per year. During the month of January the Treasurer shall send to each member a statement of dues for the ensuing year.
